"Hi Guys. We're here today learning how to play some Improv Icebreakers. And the next Icebreaker we are going to show you is called "Name Volley". To play "Name Volley" you are going to break your group of improvisers up into an even number. And you are going to mime a game of volleyball. Now I know this sounds a little bit confusing, but it's a lot of fun, and it's a good way to learn each others names and learn how to initiate with physicality. Let's assume you have an even number of people in a group of six. Let?s go ahead and divide them up into two sides of three. You're going to pretend as if there is a net in between you and you are going to fictitiously mime a game of volleyball. Now this is going to include serves, and this is going to include the occasional missed hits. The important thing when playing this game, is that every time you hit the fake volleyball, you are going shout out the name of somebody on the other side of the team, on the other side of the net, on the opposite team. And then they are going to choose whether to hit it back to somebody else or to drop the ball. Just keep on playing until everyone has had a chance to hit it to somebody, to drop the ball, or even to serve because that's a lot of fun too. Now since Dan and I are the only two here to demonstrate, we are just going to do a quick round of, we're just going to play a quick round of it and see how it goes. So I think you guys will get the hang of it. Matt. Dan. Matt. Spike Dan. Whoa Matt. Oh, I missed. You dropped the ball as it were. I did. Alright he Dan you serve again. Matt. Dan. Matt. Dan. Matt. Whoa, Dan. Matt. Dan. Matt. Whoa, and I dropped the ball again. I would pass it back to Dan and we would just continue going back and forth. If you want to mix it up and play it just like a game of volleyball, you guys can switch sides, and have the teams switch sides and keep on playing. You could even; you could even have like a tournament where your different groups can play. And whichever team wins, can go on and play another team. It's a fun, it's a fun little Icebreaker. That's "Name Volley"."
