"It’s important to realize that at your high school there are a lot of talented kids and there is only so many creative outlets. For instance in the school plays there might be only so many lead roles available but a lot of talented kids who would do really well with a lead role opportunity. Your improvisation organization can help provide that for these kids. It’s also important to realize that the teachers can get a lot of ancillary benefits from having a good improv program in their schools and in all the training I’ve done. I’ve taught teaching organizations, school board organizations, certainly people from all walks of life, but teachers get this message, they understand interactive issues, they understand the improvements in educational environment they can get through the use of improvisation and the stress reduction aspects of it. If you can get the message to the teachers at the school and encourage them with a workshop, while you have a program going on with the kids who are developing the positive culture of agreement and co-creativity and collaboration that comes with improvisation you have a pretty good shot.
