on 2/9/2009 Lord Geoffrey or should I say Good Lord Geoffrey. I want to give you the benefit of the doubt but you are making this up as you go along you dont even know the history of a magic hat and you are attempting to pass along information as an expert. You need to learn your history better before passing yourself off as an expert. Nice to see that this was posted on ehow as well. For any young magician reading this please do yourself a favior join the local IBM, SAM, or Magic Circle where you can learn to apreciate magic as an art form and truly learn the history of magic from magicians who are knowledgeable. Lord Geoffrey may be a working magician but is far from an expert in Magic knowledge as very clearly shown in this video.

"Hello. My name's Geoffrey M. Sodoski. I'm a magician. My stage name is Lord Geoffrey M. Sodoski, Chancellor of Magic. I'm here on behalf of Expert Village to show you a little bit of magic and to let you know what basically goes into routining a show. Magicians have always there you say, well pull the rabbit out of the hat and everything. Hats, like this top hat have been around for, oh gosh, centuries. Hats were basically a status symbol back in the old days. Everybody would have either a top hat, some type of hat. So what magicians did back then was they found a use for the top hat for producing stuff out of it. It was like they, basically, they would, they used what elements they had back then. Of course, rabbits and everything. Same thing with wands. Magic wands have been around since the beginning of time."
