How to do the Mind Reading Marker Trick

"Alright everybody. Now I'm going to tell you how to do a classic kid's trick and we've updated it to work with office supplies. This was actually an old trick done with crayons. You can do this with crayons if you work in a place that has crayons, which would be kind of cool if you're working in an office and they're using crayons. We're actually using magic markers. It's important that you select kind of darker or more vivid colors. Like we've got a blue, a black, a red, and a green. You wouldn't want to use a like a yellow or an orange for this. These are 4 good colors. Seeing that if you go to the store you can actually get these 4 colors together in package, this is probably a good selection of colors. What I did was I had Mr. Hand come over and select one of the markers and he put it in my hands behind my back, so we're going to have him do that. The one thing I didn’t' mention that he should do is take the other markers away and put them in his pocket so that I can't just look at which one he picked. What's happening is behind my back...I'll show you what's happening. I'm taking the cap off the marker and I'm just drawing a little mark right on my thumb nail just like that and I'm putting the cap back on behind my back. Now, I'm going to bring my hand up to my head like this and I'm just going to look what color marker is on my thumbnail. It's red so I know I'm holding the red marker. This is why you want to pick colors that are very different. The blue and the black easily stand out if you write on your thumbnail or if I write on my thumbnail. You may want to pick colors that work for you. You bring your hand up to your head. You're kind of sighting what color you have and then you bring your hand back. Look like you're deep in concentration and they reveal that you know they picked the red marker and you can bring this out. Now, if you're using crayons, you can have them pick them crayons right out of the box and do it that way. But like I said, we aware of the light colors like the whites and the yellows and those. You can use more markers if you can find more colors. Using 4 and doing that way, that's a good solid way to do the trick. Have fun with that."
