"Hi everybody! Now let me show you how to utilize the one ahead principal to do the trick that we just did. It's a fun trick. Basically, you want to get 3 groups of objects for them to pick from. This is traditionally done in bigger performances with one of the objects as a playing card that is forced. You can certainly apply that to this if you'd like, but since we're talking about office supplies and magic around your workplace, I wanted to keep it to stuff you can do without having to bring cards to work. The first prediction I wrote was you will pick the quarter. Now, even though I'm not going to have him pick a coin yet, that was the first prediction I wrote was you will pick the quarter. That's actually the last thing he's going to pick and we're going to force it on him. I write you will pick the quarter, I fold this u. I'll even fold it up a little smaller this time and I drop it into a cup. A coffee cup will work great for this. I had him come in and pick a marker and he picked the blue marker. He could have picked any marker he wanted but he picked the blue one. It really doesn't matter which one he picks. Now I say I'm gong to predict how many fingers he's about to hold up, but what I actually write is you will select the blue marker. Okay, and I fold that up. So I write down what just happen and I drop that in the cup. Now I ask him to hold up a number of fingers. He held up 4. He could have held up anything from 1 to 10, but he held up 4. I actually wrote down for my third prediction you will hold up 4 fingers. Now, I wrote down the first prediction that said you will pick the quarter, and now we have to force the quarter on him and we're going to do that using the 3 coin prediction that we used before with the magician's choice. He pointed to these 2, we eliminated them, that left a quarter. If he had pointed to these 2 for instance, we would have eliminated the dime, had him pick one up and we would have gotten to the quarter that way. Now, when we dump these out, they're going to be in sort of just a half. We'll unfold them. Do it for yourself, not for them. You want to put them in order of color, number of fingers, and the coin and then you reveal them that you got them all right. That's how you do the 3 part prediction. "
