Explanation of the Prediction in an Envelope Magic Card Trick

" Hi! I’m Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. Now let’s do the cool envelope prediction. Now what you want to do is get yourself an envelope, write a prediction on it, and you want to take a card from another deck, different to the color you were using and you want to put that in there, it could be any card that you want to use, so we’ll put that in there. We’re going to put our force card on top of the deck, for the cross cut force—and I’m going to teach you a little tip on the cross cut force that I used in this that I didn’t teach you before. Now Mr. Hand is going to cut the cards, and then we’re going to have him pick up the cards and put this one on top cross wise. Now I’m going to say there’s no way I could know what you were going to cut. You cut wherever you wanted. And I asked him top or bottom. Now in this case he said bottom, so I’m going to pick it up and say bottom half. Okay…now if he had said top, then I’m going to pick this up and say okay and look at the top card, so it sounds like I’m giving him a choice, but I’m really not, which is just one of those fun things to do in magic. Now we have forced the 3 of spades on him, you can take your prediction, open up the envelope… I like to take, pull this card out face down, because then you get kind of an extra moment of suspense there. And then you turn it there and show them that it’s the matching card. And that’s a very strong trick that you can do using any of the forces that I showed you."
