" Hi! I’m Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. Now the 2 deck trick with the 2 different colored decks is actually an old old trick called “do as I do.” It is a classic trick. Great trick! You need 2 decks of cards, and you need your very own Mr. Hand, or any friend or spectator. The best part is these can both be shuffled decks, they can pick either one they want, so go ahead and pick one. Wonderful! You can pick it up. What I am going to do is, while I am shuffling my deck, I am going to glimpse the bottom card, and in this case I am actually just going to make sure that it goes back on the bottom. If I don’t want to do that, I can just kind of give the cards a little Hindu shuffle this way, and do the same thing and put the cards back on the bottom. But anyway, I know that I have a key card here. I know the bottom card. So I am going to switch decks with Mr. Hand, and I am going to tell him to go through and pick out his favorite card, and I am going to do the same. I’m just going to take out any card out of the deck; I don’t even care what it is. I’m not even going to remember it, and then I am going to say put it on top of the deck, which he does. Then I’m going to say cut the deck. What he just did was he put my key card, the 4 of hearts, on top of his selected card. So we are going to switch decks again, and I am going to say “now I am going to pull out the same card that I selected.” That’s not what I am going to do. I am going to look for my key card, which is the 4 of hearts, and I am going to know that he picked the jack of spades, and that is the card I am going to pull out. Now he’s going to pull the same card out, because he remembers his card, and we lay them down, and we both have the jack of spades. That is a great trick to do using the key card principle."
