" Hi everybody! Malik the Magic Guy for expertvillage.com. Now I am going to show you one basic way to use a key card principle. Now in a minute, I am going to show you some ideas for placement; but what we want to do with the key card principle to find a card—let’s say we have a card picked that is the 7 of clubs. Now, if a key card is on the bottom of the deck—most of the time we are going to use it, it is going to be on the bottom; there are some ideas to use it on the top as well—but if the key card is on the bottom of the deck, then all we need to do is get the deck into a position where we are putting the key card on top of the card they selected. I am going to show you some ways to do that in a minute. But if you remember, when we did the sandwich trick in one of the previous intro videos, it is the same kind of idea. So now I will be able to look through the deck, find my key card and know that was the card they picked. It was the card right before it as I go through. That is basically locating a card with the key card principle, if the key card starts on the bottom. If the key card had started on the top of the deck, so that it was here when we started, then we would have our selected card and we would put that there, and then because the key card started on top, the selected card is after it in the deck. But most of the time we are going to have it on the bottom. I just wanted to show you that to be complete. So come back and I will show you some more stuff to do with the key card."
