"The 6th note of the E major scale is C sharp. Let's look at C sharp in the staff the 6th note C and it is sharp by the key signature. We also have C sharp written above. On the flute C sharp is played only with the pinkie key this is how it sounds. Let's look how to finger C sharp just the pinkie key in the left hand right hand excuse me. When playing this note on the flute it is important to keep the sound nice and dark and to focus the air in it. This note can sometimes be sharper then the pitch it should be which would make the pattern of whole and half steps sound out of tune for a major scale. So flute players make sure you are blowing into the flute to keep a darker sound to make the pitch low. Let's look this is a example of what I need. You can hear the difference in sound which would help the scale be more in tune with itself. Let's look at the scale from the beginning E to F sharp whole step. F sharp to G sharp whole step. G sharp to A half step. A to B whole step. B to C sharp whole step. Let's listen. C sharp is our 6th note. "
