"The 3rd note of E major scale is G sharp. Let's look at G sharp in the staff we have G sharp 3rd note it is sharp from the G sharp in the key signature. Here is G sharp again. Let's look how to play G sharp on the flute you use the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and thumb of the left hand. You just use the pinkie key in the right hand. This is how it sounds. Let's review the fingerings on the flute 1st, 2nd, 3rd, pinkie, thumb in the left hand and just the pinkie key in the right hand. Let's look at our scale from the beginning we have E to F sharp which is a whole step. F sharp to G sharp which is another whole step. Notice how the scale moves up the fingers take off in session E to F sharp and then to G sharp. This hand keeps getting less and less fingers to use. Let's take a listen. G sharp was the 3rd note. "
