"We have now learned how to play the F major scale on the flute. We have gone all the way up to the last note F. Since I didn't mention the other octave in the beginning,let's take a quick look at the top note F which repeats the bottom note in the end of the scale is fingered the exact same way as the lower F. As you can see, this is where F falls in the scale. Let me review the scale. We have now just looked at F major in 1 octave. 1 octave is the distance between F and F but there are many F's in music. We have learned from the low F to the middle F. For advanced players, you can move on to learn how to play from middle F up to high F. This is called the 2nd octave each of these are octaves. "
