"The first note in the F major scale is F. This is also known as the root of the scale or the pentatonic. Let's look where F in on the staff here is F the first major note. To play it on the flute let's look at our fingering chart. F is in the left hand uses the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and thumb, in the right hand you use the 1st finger and the pinkie finger. Let's hear how F sounds. Let's review the fingerings looking at the flute you have the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and thumb in the left hand. In the right hand you only use the 1st finger and the pinkie key. Let's hear it again. "
