Hi, Larissa Lam here on behalf of Expert Village. We're continuing our series on proper singing technique. We're going to do an exercise right now that I like to call Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. And no, it's not a new language; it's just a vocalization exercise. Now singing actually is sometimes thought of as a brand new language that you're learning because these are vowel sounds that maybe you'll be pronouncing differently when you sing than when you actually speak. And Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo covers all the different vowel sounds for the most part, that you're going to encounter when singing. Now normally, you would maybe say Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo, and you can kind of see my lips are kind of narrow, kind of closed. But when you sing, you will be singing actually Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Notice how my mouth is a lot rounder and a lot more open. Now what I like to call the faux British accent. So think about this in your head. If you've ever heard a British person speaks with that British accent. Think of kind of over annunciating your vowels. Like Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. It'll actually help you with rounding your vowels when you're singing. We're going to try this little exercise. So sing Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. You may even want to do this in the mirror, make sure that your mouth is nice and round. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. If it gets too high for you, go ahead and switch to your head voice, or your falsetto voice. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Remember to breathe with your diaphragm, lots of support. Especially for the higher notes. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. If it's too high for you, don't worry about it. Wait until the music stops, take a breather. Have some water. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo. Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo.Goo d job if you're getting this high. That's the Me, May, Maw, Mow, Moo exercise. A
