" Hi! My name is John Armstrong from ExpertVillage.com. Today I will be discussing with you the ins and outs of electric Blues Guitar. One of the first aspects of playing blues guitar is learning how to play the rhythm blues guitar. The blues guitar typically consists of one, four, five chord progression. Now what I mean when I say the one, four, five chord progression is the first, the fourth, and the fifth keys of any given major or minor key, so for example, if I was to use the key of A major, okay, that will consist of an A major chord, and a D major chord, and an E major chord. Now if I was to substitute those major triads with seven chords I would use the dominant seven chord, so what I would come up with then would be an A seven chord, a D seven, and an E seven, typically speaking you see the dominant seven chord is used a lot more often than you would with the major triad, these chord progressions are going to typically be within the confines of 12 bars, when I refer to 12 bars I mean 12 measures, each measure typically having four beats in each one, so for example, here would be a blues in A, using one, four, five chord progression within the confines of 12 bars, two, three, four, four D and so on."
