" Hi! My name is John Armstrong from ExpertVillage.com. Today I will be discussing with you the ins and outs of electric Blues Guitar. Next I would like to discuss a little bit the elements of lead guitar for the blues. Now the blues typically there is no boundaries as to what you can do, solo and ensemble, what scales, what arpeggios you can use, but typically we see a lot of pentatonic in blues scales, used when soloing of a blues progression. First we will discuss soloing of a major style blues progress, which contains, for example, the one seven, the four seven, the five seven, back to the one seven. For this chord progression we use a minor pentatonic, which seems a little bit odd because here we are taking a major style chord progression, soloing using a minor scale, and this can be pretty cool. You have got this scale, which contains the flatted third, over this chord, which contains a major third, and what you can do, one of the things that you can do is to key off that, and kind of play off the relationship between the minor and the major third by hammering on from the minor into the major."
