Adding Bass Synth to a Drum Machine Beat

"Alright. You have your beat and for fun, you've even added some auxiliary percussion. So, next up you're going to want to add a bass or a synth line. Alright. Now, this is very important and this usually takes a lot of time to do. So, I'm going to show you a fast way to just record it and add a synth line on your drum machine. First, you want to select your sound. So, here you're going to scroll through. And, you're going to use these keys right here. On this specific drum machine, these keys right here are used for the synthesizer. So, that's an organ. That's an alto sax. That's a trumpet, mute trumpet. I like the sound of this brass ensemble. It's dark and I think it will work well with our beat. So, I'm going to use this. When I record my synth lines, I like to take out the auxiliary percussion and use just the basic parts of the beat. Just so I can get a more organic feel for the song. So, here I've taken out. Simply just muted the auxiliary percussion that we chose. Just going to play the beat. I'm going to play some synth over it to see what it sounds like. The specific sound that I've chosen. Here we go. Alright. Now, I'm going to hit record and play and I'm going to record the synth line over the beat. Record, play, listen to the beat. Get a feel for it. Let it run through a couple measures and get the feel for the song. And when it starts back over, record. Now, it's recorded and your ready to go."
