"My name is Katrina Cook and I am a casting director and owner of Katz Casting. I am here on behalf of Expert Village.com to show you some important ways to build your resume. As you may have noticed on the head shot I showed you earlier, she has quite a bit of experience listed. As a starting out actor you are obviously not going to be able to have all that on your resume, so how do you get started. My first recommendation would be to be an extra. An extra is also known as a background player. It is all of the people in the background that makes up a scene behind the main actors. This helps you gain experience, to learn set protocol and most importantly to network with other actors as we all know that networking is the key to success in this business. "
