" Hi! My name is Ken Marcou and I’m going to talk a little bit about using other devises other than sticks to get desired results and right now I’m going to be talking about yarn mallets. Yarn mallets are primarily used for creating a swelling type of atmosphere of sound on cymbals, that’s the main purpose of them and they work primarily well for that, I’m going to demonstrate a cymbal swell now, cymbal swell because the cymbal well you’ll hear it, it gets loud and rings out, here we go…as you can tell this provides somewhat of a dark bruiting type of feel and that was just one example to use your drum kit and use the thing that you hit the drum kit with to more effect than just keeping a simple beat."
