-
Step 1
Sit down and stay off your feet.
-
Step 2
Remove shoes and socks.
-
Step 3
Elevate your feet and legs. Place a pillow under your heels, and prop your feet on a chair or high stool.
-
Step 4
Soak your feet in cool water.
-
Step 5
Reduce your salt intake. Salt causes you to retain water.
-
Step 6
Take diuretics if prescribed by your doctor. Diuretics increase urination by pulling excess fluid out of your cellular tissues.
-
Step 7
See a cardiologist if your swollen feet are due to heart problems. When a heart is damaged, it has trouble pumping blood effectively and efficiently, causing bodily fluids to pool in the feet. Heart-muscle-strengthening drugs can help reduce swelling in the feet.
-
Step 8
Practice good health habits. Proper nutrition and daily exercise improve the health of your cardiovascular system and your circulation, helping to reduce the tendency of your feet to swell.

on 11/19/2007 To add to my earlier comment - You can purchase a Redema only at www.redema.us. It has an adjustable carrying strap and tote bag attached. You can elevate your feet up to 20 inches.

on 11/19/2007 Release swollen feet and legs - use "Redema" (inflatable footrest). Put your feet on it and relax. Enjoy your tea, coffee or juice. You will feel and see the difference in two to five minutes. Other benefit for using redema is that you can take it almost anywhere with you to release your swollen feet and legs.
I am an interpreter. I am sitting a lot. It gets me sleeping, swollen and tired feet and legs. since I use redema no more sleeping, swollen or tired feet and legs. It is worth to have a redema.

on 10/4/2007 [quote]Studies have shown that the earth used to have twice the oxygen and almost double the air pressure. This info was obtained through core sampling and other methods. Perhaps this accounts for ancient tales of extreme longevity due to the fact that the earth apparently resembled what we call a hyperbaric biosphere today. You would age very slowly under these conditions-plus the decreased ozone threat of increased cosmic radiation of all sorts.Makes one wonder if home oxygen treatments and cardiovascular exercise will help the problem.
