" Hi! My name is Ken Marcou and I’m going to be showing you an example of playing a beat and then playing syncopated version of the beat. When you are syncopating something it gives things the feel of urgency, gives it a feel of a change, a lot of the time a syncopated section is thrown in after non syncopated section so that it shows some building, it shows some creativities, it shows some pizzazz in the song so I’m going to demonstrate that here…that is a non syncopated version of the beat. Now if I’m going to change it to a syncopated version I would play it like this…so as you can see it’s a lot more punch and you know has a lot more kind of pizzazz and spark and that’s what syncopated is used for."
