" Hi! My name is Ken Marcou, I’m going to talk a little bit about playing faster beats. Faster beats you have a little bit more leave way to improvise and kind of throw in some stuff, I’m actually going to be playing a kind of a cadent speed which is a little different than your normal hi-hat, snare, kick drum beat. I am however going to go back into that type of thing but I’m going to start it off by using the toms as more of a primary instrument as oppose to a filler instrument just to highlight the fact that you can use other parts of the drum set as a real instrument and not just a filler thing as well, so here we go…so that was a little bit of a cadent speed, now I wasn’t doing any kind of elaborate melodies on the drums I was really just kind of keeping time with the floor tom but when you keep time with the floor tom it creates a really nice driving effect that gets most people ready to get up and going and you know you mix it with the hi-hat and the ride cymbal and you can be very comprehensive with your driving rock tonight."
