" Hi! My name is Ken Marcou and I’m going to show you a little bit about playing polyrhythm in your drum playing. Now polyrhythms essentially mean that you’re playing several different rhythms at once, so there’s a lot of rhythm going on in your playing. The trick is to do that without sounding too sloppy, too crazy, when you’re playing that in a song you have to pick and choose your moments where you do that but you know it can really sound embellished, it really sounds good when you do it the right way. So here’s an example from a part from a bridge section of a song which is a good place to put in polyrhythms cause you know it’s kind of spot for you to shine, so here we go demonstration of a polyrhythm…so there we had every part of my body doing something different playing on a different section of the beat and when you listen to each individual thing there all doing their all moving rhythm but it all matches together and works together in sounds like one per cohesive unit, so there’s your polyrhythm."
