" Hi! It’s Ken Steiner for expertvillage.com. Now we’re going to get to the triple slap, triple slap is sort of all the flashy stuff you hear in the slap bass playing and you can use it as a regular beat or you can use it to add into your double slapping or single slapping to add accents and make it really sound cool. The first triple slap we’re going to deal with is one that you use often on a two beat feel, one of the places that you would really hear it a lot are on the earliest Elvis Presley recordings, Bill Black playing bass which by the way I highly recommend if you’re going to be listening to slap bass the early Elvis on Sun Records is pretty indispensable if you want to hear a really good slap bass playing especially because there’s no drummer on those sections so it’s a bass player who keeps the percussion going and he does something like this……."
