Today we're showing breaking tips. Right now, we're going to talk a little bit about a move I like to call a monkey flip. A monkey flip is kind of an acrobatic move. It's more of a trick in breaking. Something you can do between your footwork just to add a little style, a little access flare. This is what a monkey flip looks like. It's something you probably do in your footwork. I'm going to break the move down for you. The first thing we want to do is squat down. We want to kind of be on our toes, kind of loose. So what I do is I take my left hand and I sit back. So most my body weight is now on my left hand. I don't want to have my butt on the floor like this. I want to be somewhere comfortable like this where I can kind of bounce. It's easier to do if you take your right hand and you kind of put it in between your knees like this and kind of get your the momentum and the motion going back. You want to swing your hand in the direction in which you're going to go. So it's going to look something like this. 1, 2, 3. That was a low one. As you gain a little bit more strength in your legs and your body, you can go higher back. As you get a little stronger and you get a little braver. Try it on a mat. It's very important to try this on a mat first. You can get higher and higher. This is what it looks like when you get a little bit higher, same thing. 1, 2, 3. This is something again; you would do off of your footwork as a transitional move. So you did a 6 step, monkey flip, back to a 6 step, freeze. Now that was a monkey flip.
