"What's going on people? This is Jonathan Escotto, also known as B-boy Xcel, on behalf of Expert Village, and today we're showing you break dancing tips. Right now, I'm going to talk a little bit about B-boy fashion. Now, B-boy fashion is very important. In the B-boy culture, it was always very important to look fresh, but also to be able to move comfortably. One thing that's very important: you don't want to dance in something uncomfortable. You want to have something semi loose, not too baggy that you trip on, but loose enough that you can move freely. A track suit such as this is perfect for that. This material...I'm not sure if you can see it up close. It's very good material because it's smooth. On a smooth floor, such as linoleum or wood floor. Not concrete. That's later on when you're a little bit more advanced, but linoleum or a smooth wood floor. This material is very good because it prevents friction. Another thing that we use are what we called trucker hats or spin hats. The reason we call them spin hats is basically because we use them to spin. Head spins. Moves like tracks or halos, which are side ways head spins, things like that. We want to use these types of hats because they give you cushioning and they also have that slippery texture with them that again, prevents friction. So trucker hats, the track jacket. Any type of track jacket such as this with a smooth type of material. Windbreakers are good as far as pants. I wouldn't recommend windbreaker jackets too much, because they tend to get sticky when you sweat. These type of jackets are a little bit better or the nylon shirts, the dry fit shirts. For those of you who are just beginning break dancing, pads are very essential. I recommend using knee pads and elbow pads. They're good because in the beginning you’re going to bump your knees a lot. You're going to bump your knees a lot; you're going to bump your elbows a lot and you're going to get a lot of bruises. It's not an easy dance; keep that in mind, so invest in a pair of knee pads and a pair of elbow pads. It's worth the money. Now, the third and most important thing that you want to always have are your sneakers. Sneakers are basically what makes a B-boy. You have to have sneakers that are comfortable, that are light, and that have grip. There's a lot of nice sneakers out there that have no grip, and once you get a little bit more advanced and you do crazy moves, power moves and flips, your sneakers sometimes can make you slip. You want to have something that have some sort of grip. I personally recommend and type of running sneakers or cross trainers because they have grip on the bottom; they're good for grip. Okay. Find what works for you, and we'll take it from there. "
