"my name is Jude Parry from Gold Coast Theater Company in Miami Beach. Today I will be teaching you a little bit about the art of mime. Now this would be useful especially for your actors on stage. Because it would teach you to go to a audition with confidence and use your body as well as your words. It is also useful for the average person when they walk into a room what do they do. Do they walk in looking rather quiet and under confident or do they walk in with confidence. So this is to show you how your body transmits signals. My shoulders back always suggest confidence. Shoulders forward and chest back alway suggest fear because you are protecting yourself. Also you can use this shoulders back as long as it does not look too strange to suggest the idea of confidence. If you are in a audition situation, you often only get one minute of audition to see. But they don't say anything about the suggestions. So how about you walk on stage create a reality for yourself clearly in mind. Then the audience is already is seeing your character before you open your mouth. Now this is the beauty of physical theater."
