my name is Jude Parry from Gold Coast Theatre Company in Miami Beach. Today I will be teaching you a little bit about the art of mime. Without beating a dead horse, this is like number 4 in mime walks, but they are very cute to use as illusions in party tricks. This is an illusion you can create if somebody's walking on the spot in front of you and you're on the stage, and you want to create the illusion that you are behind them, what you do is you take up a position as if you're stationery. Then you shuffle side ways in that position, so the person who's in front of you who's not moving appears to be drifting in front of you. It's a very cool illusion for 2 people to do as they're on the stage, or even off. Those 2 people could stand in the supermarket and do this kind of thing. Who knows? It really depends what you do in your own private life. This is what you do when you're shuffling. You really use your feet one against the other. Not one together, not the toes together, but one against the other. You use foot and toe, foot and toe. That's how you walk in the background for mime.
