" Hi this is Leslie Sack with expertvillage.com. My website is lesliesack.com. This is my dance partner Jorge Saucedo, and we are doing merengue. Now we are going to do the sweetheart, and there is two different ways to come out of it. Alright. The sweetheart is two handed, open hand hold. You always start in closed dance position, and if you are doing the basic, he's going to bring his arm down. Come into an open hand hold, and he is going to bring me across into a sweetheart This is the sweetheart. So you could either just bring her in and then send her out, or you could bring her in, and then the girls are walking backwards, and the guys are walking forwards. And the way he is going to turn me out is I'm going to turn out to my right, and under his right arm and my left arm. So let's do that again. So he is going to push her away, here comes the sweetheart, I move forward then I'll walk backwards, he walks forwards, then I get it, turn forward, like this. And then we can go in and out, or come back together: that is a sweetheart."
