Video Transcript

"In this clip, we are going to put you into a closed dance position. Gentleman, take the lady's right hand in your left hand, putting the right hand back on her shoulder blade behind her. Just have it rest there, don't push it. And the lady's left hand will go up on your shoulder blade. The Oberek is always done in closed dance position, with the lady going backward, the gentleman going forward. Gentlemen, you are going to start off on your left foot, ladies are going to step back on their right foot. And again, with that working with that slight bounce and lift with the 1-2-3, and...1-2-3 2-2-3, 1-2-3- 2-2-3, 1-2-3 2-2-3, and as you can see, with the bounce it is just a lot of fun with the Oberek and it is a workout when you get on the dance floor to do it. You just hop side-to-side, very gently. Just until you get comfortable with the dance, so you just do this with your little warm-up, then you'll get out there and you'll be having a good time on the dance floor."
