One of the most popular steps for merengue dancing is the ladies underarm turn and it looks like this. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4. So as you could see it is four comes to place you raise just the hands she turns underneath her self to a very small walk around turn and then brings the hand back down. What you don't want to do as a beginner is you don't want to step away from your partner when you are doing this. It is right underneath your self so the turn is 1,2,3,4, right, left, right, left, back to basic.
