You can contact me at michiganhighlanddance.com and in this clip I will be demonstrating the third step of the Highland fling: crossover. The next step I will demonstrate for is the crossover step and the crossover step must follow the first step of the fling and may follow the second step of the fling. To execute the crossover we will first begin by dancing a shedding movement with your right foot. You will then hop placing your right foot into second position and hop again until you get your right foot into arrow position. You will then spring taking your left foot up to third arrow position. Then you go hop onto your right foot taking your left foot into third position. You may also use fifth position instead of third position. You will then repeat this movement on the left foot executing the shedding of the left foot. Hop with the left foot. Hop until you get into third arrow position. Change or spring onto the left foot, taking the right foot to third arrow position. Then hop taking the right foot to third position. You will execute this once more on each side. When the dance is completed it would look like this.
