"Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay, now we're ready to sew. I've opened up our Velcro flaps, and we're going to sew from the handle marking pin to this pin and from there. We'll leave these parts of the handles loose. Now, I've changed the top thread on my machine to a thread that matches the ribbon. I've left the bobbin a light color to coordinate with the fabric here. You want to make sure that you're using the right color threads to make it look nice. We can start here right at the pin marking the handle. I'm going to remove that pin and just sew straight across remembering to back up a little to knot it. You're going to sew very close to the edge of the ribbon as close as possible. Now, when you come to your folded over edge, you just wan to make sure that it's nicely folded over and that it will cover. Sew right down to your next pin. Not this one that's holding it, but the one's that's marking the handle edge. Put the needle right where the pin is marking and pivot. Pull your pin out and go straight across. You can back up once just to reinforce because that's where some of the pressure will be when you're holding the book caddy. Then we'll go back down the other side sewing very close to the edge of the ribbon. When you come to this is the folded over part, you want to just make sure that it's folded neatly and that it looks like a continuous ribbon. Just work slowly over that part and continue down. Now, we've completed one side of our ribbon, and we've sewn in like a big box like this. Trim all your threads and then we'll do the other side."
