"I’m an Industrial Designer here today to talk a little bit about the field of Industrial Design. And on the more artistic side of Industrial Design we have objects which are you know things that people purchase that may be just an object which maybe such as a tea kettle which is very ornate and detailed which they may never use, maybe they just bought it to have as a piece for their house or to collect certain pieces of furniture that designers develop to push the envelope when it comes to materials, styles and things like that. So this is getting more into the fashion side of design where things become trends and icons that represent a certain era say for example the mid century modern era where new materials are being introduced, plastics things like that which kind of define that particular era. Now when someone goes and purchases that furniture they’re able to understand certain eras."
