"Hi, my name is Sean Beck at Mom's Tattoos in Wilmington, North Carolina on behalf of Expert Village here to tell you a little bit about tattoo after care. Alright, I'm going to tell you a little bit about moisturizers for your tattoo. During the after care, the first two weeks the ointment, the best traction, tattoo goo, ink fixx, H2Ocean, whatever you are using, that is good for the first two weeks. It is very important to keep your tattoo from drying up, you don't want it to dry up. After the tattoo is healed, it is going to still go through a lot of drying period, it is going to want to stay dry especially for about six weeks after you get the tattoo. Basically just use whatever your favorite hand lotion is. A lot of artists recommend unscented lubriderm hand lotion. I don't like it, I think it is a little thin, I like something a little thicker. If you start using the lotion before your tattoo is completely healed, you probably do want to use something that is unscented because the alcohol in the lotion will burn the heck out of your skin, it won't mess you up but it will suck by its tiny sea pin. If you don't moisturize your tattoo during the first two weeks, it will dry up crack, it will do a lot of damage to the after care. If after your tattoo is healed, you don't use lotion, your tattoo is going to tend to look very ashy and dry basically, it is not going to be at its full potential of how good it can look. So use some moisturizer."
