"Hi my name is Sean Beck at Mom's Tattoos in Wilmington, NC. on behalf of Expert Village here to tell you a little bit of tattoo after care. Alright let's say you got the first part done. You went and found yourself a really good artist, he done a really nice tattoo. They are going to bandage up your tattoo, they are going to give you their after care and then they are going to send you on the way. In about a hour or 2 up to maybe 4 hours you want to wash your tattoo. You want to remove the bandage, use hot water, soap, you can use a wash cloth, some kind of luffa, something that is really going to clean your skin. Give it a good scrubbing, this is not going to feel good at all but it is important. Hot water is good for opening up the pores, it will release a lot of the dry blood and plasma that is caked up on your tattoo afterwards. The first cleaning is very important because that is when your tattoo is going to bleed the most so it is going to have a lot of the blood and plasma on it, it is trying to form a scab on the tattoo. You don't want scabs so you are going to want to wash the tattoo the first time, it is not going to feel great but it is very important so keep it clean. "

on 11/4/2008 Scabs are really important when your tattoo is healing. They let the skin heal and keep the ink and colour in. Do not wash too harshly, use unperfumed, natural soaps and DO NOT scrub. Google Tattoo Aftercare and read some of the legit. ones. Ignore this video, you'll end up with a patchy tattoo and have to pay to get it touched up.
