"I'm Sharlee McCulley, and as you can see we have our pansy blocked in with the purple color and now I'm going to add the green for the leaves and part of the background. So I go in and I pick my green and I side load with some darker green. And then you cut in and add the green. It doesn't have to be perfect. Doing a little bit of crosshatching, if you remember that stroke. You never want to paint all the way around your flower, because it just doesn't look right. Okay, now I can actually go in and shape a little bit, to make a suggestion of a leaf. I don't care to make my leaves extremely detailed because for me the subject matter is actually the flower. It doesn't hurt to get a little of that purple mixed in with your background color. Makes it actually a little more interesting. And that is how we get the green started. "
