"Hi, I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and today we're talking about transparency and glazes in watercolor. We almost finish our painting that I want to show you something that I use quite often in my paintings. Which is excellent to use with glazes and transparencies and it's lifting off. What you do is you dip your paint brush in clear, clear water; you start by putting water clear water in various sections of your paper and very lightly begin to blot it off. This may take several applications but it gives you a nice finish as you begin to take and this time you can scrub. Because you want to take as much paint as you possible can off. Okay, that' getting much lighter there, I'm going to do it one more time. That's good and now I'm going to scrub off a little more down here underneath my fish, this certainly takes more than one application to do it. And then I'm going to go into places on my fish like right here by the tail and I'm going to take off a lot of paint right here. You can see how it's beginning to look lighter and lighter as you add applications of clear water to it. One more time on that tail and I'll think I'll do a little bit right here, I'll have some kind of detail on my fish. Make sure it's very, very wet and what you’re doing is your lifting the paint off you can see I'm beginning to have a pattern here. By water and lifting we'll continue to lift until you get to the desire effect that you want. Stay tuned for the conclusion of how to do glazes in transparencies."
