"Hi, I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and today we're talking about transparencies in watercolor. I've added my rose madder, my cobalt blue and some colors that I like a mosaic fish and now I'm going to go over it after I dried everything completely in between with a cadmium red. I go over the red and green transparent over these of all the colors on my fish. One of the things to remember to do when you're doing transparencies is do not scrub, just go lightly and put one coat on if you can. Just go over these colors very lightly and do not rub or scrub like this but go very lightly over all of the fish with your red. Just go in one direction and one direction alone. I continue to go all of my fish going kind of like in a diagonal from left to right. I want a jewel tone on this fish like a mosaic. (painting) One thing about transparencies is to let things bleed, that's part of the charm of the watercolor. Go over the entire fish with the cadmium red light and then I will let it dry in between. Stay tuned for our next segment on beginning to add the details to our fish."
