"Hi, I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and today we're talking about doing glazing in transparencies in watercolor. We already added the rose madder to our background and now I'm going to add a little bit of cobalt blue just where the water should be around the fish. My idea today is to have this fish look like a kind of a moziak. So I'm going to take some of my cobalt blue, add a little water to it and start going around very lightly. Go over the background with your cobalt blue. Be sure to add lots of water to it you want to have some of your rose madder showing through the blue cause you want that transparent look to it. A little too much blue there so I'm going to add some more water to it, I like the way this is turning out so far. Different colors, different consistencies of your blue some cause when you're under water things aren't always the same color so it's alright to leave it like that. It adds more interest to the back of the paint or to the background of your painting. Now I got some little shadows and things in here and I'm going to add a little more blue over here just to make it a little bit more darker. And I will continue with this on the bottom part of my fish, but isn't this a nice way to project the fish and I will continue this underneath the fish itself. Stay tuned for our next segment on painting the cobalt in the fish."
