"Hi, I'm Sue Rose with Expert Village and in our clip using and mixing colors we're going to first start with our red and green. I have a regular large palette that I use, but to show you how you can make this easier, just get an old pie plate and use it, and also, for your water container you may use just a plastic butter dish or some old plastic thing that you have around. So, I'm gonna start now buy putting a little of my red and a little of my green in this pie plate that I have called from somewhere and a tip, go very sparingly with your colors because they go a long way and if you don't use them all just cover them with a piece of saran wrap and they will last until you use them again. So, I have my red and my green small here and I'm going to dip my paint brush into the water, I always take a sponge, and kind of blot my brush on the sponge so that I don't have too much water and I'm gonna start up here with just my red, just a little square thing here of my red, rinse my brush very well and then a little square of my green. So here are my two complimentary colors, the red and the green. Now, I'm going to add variations, when you use a color you should use three or four shades of that very same color. So, I'm going to take my red that I have here and I'm gonna put a little bit over here, and I'm gonna rinse my brush, and I'm gonna put just a little bit of green in there, just a little bit of green. Now, it's a little too dark, so I'm gonna come back in and add a little more red, a little more red, so here's another shade of my red that I'm gonna come up with. So, that's number two and I'm gonna add a little more of my red again and this time I'm going to add even more green, and a little more red, and I have an even darker shade of my red here. And it's beginning to get very brown on me, and I'll show you a trick, if I mix an equal amount of my red and an equal amount of my green, I get mud, which is what this is right here. Please watch the next segment where I introduce our complimentary color grid. Red to our greens and mixing our greens. Stay tuned for that segment. "
