A lot of the projects that we've done you could also do by teaching the warms and the cools. And that's a really great way to have the kids take whatever materials they're using and sort them into the piles so they don't get mixed up. So I'm going to put the cools over here and I'm going to take warms and put them in a pile over here. And sometimes we make drawings of just warms and cools. This is a fun projects using a dark piece of paper and a white pencil and if you can see on here, very lightly. I've used lids and I've traced some circles and I've just outlined some lines so I know where I'm going to go with this project, and the circles of different sizes. Here you can see one that is started using the cool colors and we're gonna take the colors and just use them as little lines and it really gives us a lot of movement and very dynamic kind of a drawing. Let's start one using the colors, the warm colors. So I'm just going to go around the circle with little lines. And this is a great way to teach kids patterning. And you might say OK, whatever pattern you do in your first one you need to keep repeating that so I've used yellow and red and now I'll use the orange. And you're just gonna, by keeping little lines it also makes them have to use some control and maybe I would get to add a fourth color. And I'm gonna run up the lines, again I'm just going over the white pencil lines and you don't even see them anymore, they completely disappear. But that helps the kids really stay on track with what they're doing. And these drawing are very fun, you can just fill up the whole page with your color and they look like they're moving. Alright, so we're having lot's of fun emphasizing the warm colors and the cool colors. And if you have the kids do one of each, and they don't have to do it exactly in this kind of pattern, they'll really have a sense of how the warm colors work together and how the cool colors work together to give us, the viewer, a real, a sense of something being warm and dynamic and exciting or something that 's cool and calm and peaceful or even stormy.
