Video: Paper Cutouts Color Wheel Project for Kids

Hi, this is Tracy Cheney for Expert Village and we're gonna talk about some really easy art projects that we can do together that teach us about color and the first project is using primary colors. And you just need a piece of paper and some black strips, now I have a glue stick but glue will work just fine with this. And, you can arrange the black however you'd like, and of course you're going to glue them down. And make the composition with the black strips first and then you can start adding the primary colors and you may decide that you want some big squares. You can put the colors right next to each other, you can put the colors on top of each other, you could layer them and this is just a very fun project that teaches kids the primary colors and gets a great composition too. I'm going to add some red to this, or maybe I like that whole red square that way, maybe I like that there. If you have these pre cut that 's great, but kids also need lots of practice in cutting and moving things around and I like to play with it without gluing it down first because once you've glued it down, of course, you're committed to it. And in some ways this might be fun to have them do a composition then take it all away and try again, try something new with it.
