"Hi. I'm Michael Seto, and we're going to talk about shooting jewelry inside a light tent in this clip. What's a light tent? A light tent is basically an enclosure that surrounds the object you're shooting at, and helps to diffuse the light. In this case, this is the Photech digital lighthouse. It comes nice and neat in this little carrying case. You open it, and it just pops open like this. So, what this does, is this diffuses the light and allows you to put a couple of lights around the enclosure and get an even lighting all around the jewelry you're shooting. It has this hole right here in the front, and it comes with a piece on the front that allows you to close that up. This piece on the front rolls over and closes off, and has little hole in it that allows you to stick the camera in there and shoot through into the enclosure. It also comes with a top that goes on top to fully close it. These are all removable. That way you can mix and match lighting and stuff like that. But the key, a shooting tent provides a diffuse light source all around the jewelry, and that tends to make it look very smooth, take out a lot of reflections, and it's one of the things that you want to consider when shooting jewelry."
