"This is called ATG. It's a double side tape made by 3M. It holds on the dust cover that goes on the back of the picture. This ensure that no dust gets inside of these little cracks right here but you have to have as the temperatures in your house heat up and cool down things will expand and contract. You need a little bit of air gaps so when it does expands it doesn't push your frame out and you loose your frame in the process. What normally happens is if it's put in there too tight, the frame will get cracks in the front or on the corners and show air through there and it's not an attractive look. Put your paper on like so, take you little trusty knife and you trim it off. There are many tools that can do this. I come from the old school and I learned only one way to use a razor blade. I use my thumb as a guide and I just come down to the edge of the frame like so. Then you peel it out and you have one fixed piece of paper to the back of the frame, there is one step left we need to see if we can put a hanger on it."
