" Hi! My name is Pete Bellessis and I'm an art teacher. Today I am representing expertvillage.com and our lesson is drawing. You need to take into consideration where we are going to set up and begin working. I mentioned earlier if we were doing something like landscape drawings or nature drawings, we obviously would have to be outside. That's not the case today. We are going to be inside doing everything from drawing human figures, drawing still lights and drawing some automotive design type sketches. You will notice I am already seated. It is probably going to be your best bet to be seated for comfort level. I also got right over here a sort of make shift easel which is just a stool with my pads leaning up against the wall. Now if you've taken the time and expense to bring them all in, you need to not only consider yourself here but your model and their comfort level. Now if you've taken the time and expense to bring them all in, you need to not only consider yourself here but your model and their comfort level. They are going to be holding extended poses so you want to make sure that they are set up in a comfortable place so that they are able to hold that pose as you draw them. It is also important for you to be comfortable so that you don't cramp up from some awkward angle. Today's example will be working from a make shift easel from a stool here and our sketch pad leaned up against the wall and that's adequate and some of you will like working that way but you might also want to have an actual flat surface that you are leaning over and drawing from. It doesn't have to be an expensive drawing table. It could just be a desk, could be a kitchen table or dining room table. You could even work from just your lap on the couch with your sketch pad in your lap. So keeping things like photographs or your subject nearby, keeping extra pencils and different types of pencils, erasers and different types of erasers and your different paper, maybe earlier sketches that you are still working from, just keeping everything nearby easily referenced so that you are not jumping up and down and losing the focus of the moment of the drawing. That's about it. So with that in mind, let's get drawing. "
