"Hi, my name is Raj with Expert Village and I’m here today to talk a little bit about caricature art. The type of paper one uses when drawing, again it’s open to the artist. Often times I use a high gloss paper which tends to allow the marker to slide on the surface to create quick strokes and kind of easy to use. The one thing you have to remember when using glossy paper is that it will take longer for the ink to dry, so you have to take that into consideration. When using bond paper, which is more the type of paper that you would use in your copy or printer machine, that type of paper is fine. I understand it’s a little thinner than traditional drawing paper, which can kind of bleed through the back and maybe not if it’s something that you want to frame it may not last as long. So again, there’s a wide selection of paper products to choose from, even use nontraditional items. Maybe even like cardboard or fabric, things like that, I mean it gives it a different feel, you’ll see a different texture when the brush or pen touches the surface. So just play with that and you’ll explore and invent new features within your drawing."
