Summary: Learn how to estimate the materials you will need to build a kids art easel in this free instructional art video.
"Hi my name is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we'll be estimating materials the way I'm planning on designing my easel is that these legs will be made out of 4" wide oak boards. And my top pieces and I'm also going to have a bottom piece in here will also be the same size for that 4". In addition I'm going to need a backing piece which I'm going to be using 1/4" oak plywood. And I'll need just a few other pieces of hardware, so for my 2 side pieces I will need 4" X 48" long and I'll need 4 of those for each leg. For my top and bottom pieces I'll need 4" wide X 16" and I'll need 4 of those as well. And both of those are made out of oak boards, now my last piece is going to be kind of that backing piece that they're going to paint on, and that'll be 30" tall X 24" wide, and I'm going to need 2 of those. One for the front and one for the back and again I'm going to using 1/4 oak plywood. Some other materials that I'm going to need are hinges for the top so it can open and close, I'm going to need a chain so it'll restrict how far it can open. And I also purchased these plastic paint trays, now I could build paint trays but there a lot harder to clean, and these you can just take off and wash out. "
