"Hi, I'm Karen for Expert Village. Okay let's start by cutting our squares for the grid. There are sixty four squares in a chess board so we want to cut thirty two of each of our colors. So I measured my square and my squares are an inch and a half and you want to be very precise and cut your squares exactly square or you will have a lopsided board. So we will cut strips of an inch and a half. Okay, sometimes this fancy paper doesn't cut exactly right. You might need to use the scissors to trim it up. Okay, and we will cut strips and then we will go back and cut the squares. I will line that up nicely. Okay, now we will make the vertical cut. I am going to cut two at once and will measure that again if you, okay, measure again at one and a half inches. Okay, once you finish cutting your light color you want to do the same thing with your contrasting color and remember to keep, be very accurate with your cutting, make sure that you make exactly square and all the same size.
