Let's use a little bit of fabric glue to hold that in place. This is a tacky glue, or fabric glue. Just run that down the center. This glue is very thick, which is good for this job. It'll dry quick, it'll hold quick. Just rub that glue evenly along the ribbon like this and put the pen snuggly into the ribbon. Now, with a needle and thread we're going to sew that onto the pen. Make sure you have a good knot and start right at the top making sure the knot is on the inside. You could put a little bit more glue there. Dab glue there to hold the knot. We're just going to sew a regular whip stitch. My thread got a little messed up there. Sew a regular whipstitch. Catch the edge of the ribbon on both sides. I'm having a problem with my thread here. Pull that taut and go all the way down the pen. You want to catch just a little bit of that edge and a little bit of the other edge straight across and keep it taut. Just tighten it up so it wraps snuggly around the pen. This makes a nice gift if you buy a nice gift book for a friend you want to cover it with a pretty cover and then give them a pen that matches.
