" Screen printing is one of four different types of print makings. A means in which you use a matrix to transfer an original images. Screens are made from a nylon mesh that?s made up of tiny little holes that are stretched across wood or a metal frame. Used to be made from silk, which is why it was called silk screening for a long time. Still is. Works on the premis of positive and negative space. So you transfer your image. Which will block out the areas of the screen? Here you see it as a green. The areas that are yellow are holes that are open that will allow the ink to pass through. Once your image is o the screen, lay a bead of ink across the top, and use a squeegee or a flood bar to push the ink through the screen thus transferring the image. Depending on the quality of your image and quality of your screen, you could in theory have hundreds of different, or hundred of the same prints. Screen printing was really popularized as a fine art medium by Andy Warhal. Today, you really see it on T-shirts out on the street."
